Challenge
Oman is a beautiful country but also a region where heat and large amounts of sand can be an obstacle. A construction company situated here was looking for a solution to guarantee the safety of their employees on the construction site. Due to the rough environment, limited visibility by sand and the large machines that are used, safety could not always be guaranteed. We were looking for a solution for an alarm system that works at all times and goes off when an accident occurs.
Approach
These challenging conditions demand a tailor-made solution and equipment that function under rough circumstances. Communication also had to established between the various alarm systems by means of transmitters. We presented several off-grid solutions and extensively tested a number of options.
Solution
We opted for a system that is the smallest in size, best able to withstand the elements, but also makes the smartest use of it. Heat means sun and in the design for Oman we made optimal use of the natural energy source. The system is now always connected and the alarm goes off as soon as an employee is in danger, so that help is quickly on site.
